Day 145/365- Dog Tick

Dog Tick

Go ahead, say it.
All together now...

Ewwwwwwww!

I found this horrible tick crawling along
my cat's fur the other day.

I carefully removed it and then,
of course,
I held a photo shoot with it
before disposing of it properly ;0)

Unfortunately, here in the boonies
these little creatures are abundant
and a huge nuisance...
one of the few (very few) downfalls
of country living!

I am doing great...hope you are too!

Hugs all around.

P.S.  Thanks for all of the feedback on the new design.
Your opinions do matter to me!

  1. I'd rather deal with that than chiggers and noseeums!

  2. Hey, it's different here! It looks great, too.

I pull them off of myself regularly. It's those deer ticks that I really hate.

  4. At least the tick wasn't bursting at the seems with blood! Gag. I forgot to mention how I love your new look (as always). I too went to Blogger In Draft. Very cool.

  5. I hate em. But, it's a part of having critters.

  6. Love the new digs! And yeah, I have to hold photo shoots with everything too. Baby mice, Geckos, you name it... even the occasional spider. We used to get ticks at the lake, really bad. They would fall off the deer as the deer grazed in the yard, then catch numerous other vehicles for rides into the house. I hate them!

  9. I agree...living in the boonies means living with the things that come with the territory. I just found one crawling on the wall...waiting...stalking it's next prey.

  10. Growing up as a kid in Minnesota, we dealt with ticks all the time. They're icky little bloodsuckers. Although, the leeches in the lakes were even creepier, I think. Fewer bugs where I live now ... although the dreaded Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick resides here.

  12. Eww is right. I have a friend whose dog had a tick who practically gave him a stroke. So be careful!
