This week Ladybug has been at overnight camp with her 5th grade and she is coming home today! I missed her so much. It was very quiet without her here. We saw her last night at Parent's Night and she was glowing. The kids go with their 5th grade teachers to an camp that is solely used for environmental education. They stay 4 days and 3 nights on a 300+ acre tract of land that was deeded to the Harford County Board of Education after WWII. We are so lucky to live in a school system that provides these kinds of opportunities for the students. The kids can't wait until they are 5th graders so they can go to Harford Glen!
We are also in the process of finishing our basement. Ty and Ladybug have decided they would like new, larger, "teenage" rooms, so Brian is studding out Ty's room right now. The kids are old enough now to help make design decisions and they are loving being a part of the planning and building. THAT, as you can imagine, is taking up a ton of time and brain power! Construction, that is...not the kids helping ;0)
Professionally, I have been swamped! I have been taking the Rec soccer pictures (last shoot tonight...WOOT!) I am starting my last Get Off the Green Square Class on Wednesday and I am preparing to get the Countdown to Christmas set of cards ready to go for the Holiday season. Not to mention I have been booking private consulting sessions to teach photography and Photoshop, so yeah, it has been busy. Not complaining, though...I ♥ every minute of it!
Now on to the pictures...On my birthday, back on September 20, we decided to go to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. I had never been but had always wanted to go, so off we went. I am so glad we did. We had a fantastic weather day and we had a BLAST watching all the shows and seeing all the people dressed up and acting crazy. I took a TON of photos from there and I am just now beginning to edit them. I have been so swamped with Rec soccer pictures (and that is a paying job, so it takes precedence over my family pics) that I haven't had a chance to edit my own pictures. I still haven't finished the ones from Maine. *sigh*

These pics were all taken from the first show we saw that day. It was hysterical! Brian and I were rolling in laughter...the kids too although not as much as some of the humor went over their heads (especially Ladybug's). The performers were showing off their whipping and sword fighting skills. If you haven't already, you have to enlarge the one with the girl in it. She was amazing! In the picture she was whipping a bundle of spaghetti out of her father's hands...I love how the whip was caught mid swing! If you have never been to a Renaissance Festival, I highly recommend you go!I am going to try and catch up with all my blog reading this weekend. I miss reading everyone's updates every day, but promise when things settle here I will be back on a daily basis. I haven't forgotten you! Have a fabulous weekend and I will see you Monday.
xoxo,
I have never been to a Renaissance Festival but would love to check one out someday. I believe they have one in Gloucester, Virginia sometime during the summer months. Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about still editing your Maine photos....I still have some from my vacation the first of August I haven't finished. :)
When I was a kid my parents took us to a Renaissance Fair in Ohio. It was so much fun. Over the years I have told Dan about different things I remember and he and I both agree at some point we are going to have to find one for him and Mabry to experience the fun.
ReplyDeleteHope you are able to find some time to relax this weekend and also get a little caught up.
Sorry I missed you on Skype. I am free all weekend, so you just name the time and day and I will be there.
Am excited for the class!
ReplyDeleteMy my girl..when do you find time to sleep?? You are lucky that Brian is so handy..its a big savings on projects like yours. I have not been to the Pa RenFaire but years agon attended the Md. RenFaire...you are so right..its a fun day. You will have to enter one of your photos in their contest.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteI am feeling some really great vibes here!!! That is all awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the faire photos...those are always so much fun...the food is rather good as well!
Have a great weekend!!!
Good to hear that Brian is back to the basement project. It's a good time of year to move to an inside project.
ReplyDeleteHugh and I are going to try to go the PA ren faire during our anniversary weekend getaway. We have been to the MD Ren Faire many times, but not the one in PA. We are looking forward to it.
Fun action shots! :) But of course! lol
